Final Fantasy 16 was banned in Saudi Arabia for refusing to make the required changes  

Final Fantasy 16 has been banned in Saudi Arabia due to the game developers’ unwillingness to make the required changes. The game, which is the latest version in the popular Final Fantasy franchise, was set to be released on various gaming platforms, including PlayStation 5 and PC globally, which has been banned in Saudi Arabia.

 

The decision to ban the game was announced by the Saudi Arabian General Commission for Audiovisual Media (GCAM). According to the GCAM, the game’s content violates the country’s regulations and cultural values. The specific changes that were requested by the authorities have not been disclosed in the statement.

 

Moreover, Square Enix, the developer of Final Fantasy 16, has not yet commented on the ban or the reasons behind it. The game’s release date is also uncertain in other countries as the developers may need to make changes to comply with various censorship regulations in different countries.

 

Well, this is not the first time that a video game has been banned in Saudi Arabia; several games have been banned for similar reasons before, like Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and Assassin’s Creed.
